As Seen on TV – The Infinity Razor

Would you like a razor that you never have to replace?

A razor that never dulls, never loses its edge?

A razor that's guaranteed to last forever?

It's called the "Infinity Razor," and it's billed as the last razor you'll ever buy.

I have a moderate to heavy beard, and whether I'm using an inexpensive disposable razor or a high-end razor like the Gillette Fusion, usually after a week I either have to get another disposable or change the blade.

Blades can get pretty expensive, so if I can get two, three weeks -- maybe a month -- out of this, I'll be very happy.

Now, the key to the longevity of the Infinity, according to the manufacturer, is the double blades and their tungsten carbide coating that basically, supposedly, prevents the blades from dulling or ever wearing down.

On the first day, the razor felt very smooth, and as good as any shave I’ve ever had.

On my fifth shave with the Infinity, however, I began to notice a dulling sensation, and it was a little tougher than day one. It started to pull, and I couldn’t get as close to my chin as I usually can with a new blade. There was still a lot of stubble that I would normally get with a fresh blade or perhaps a better quality blade.

So here are my thoughts on the infinity razor: the very first day or two it cut very close, but by the end of the week it wasn't cutting very close at all.

So as far as it being the last razor you'll ever need, that may be the case if you want to look like Moses or Rip Van Winkle.

The Infinity Razor, in my book, doesn't make the cut, and gets the thumbs down.

Now, if you have a light beard maybe you'd get more life out of the infinity than I did. It just didn't work for me.

I bought mine at CVS for 10 dollars, but it can also be purchased online.

Next week, I'll test the world's smallest fishing pole.

It’s called the Fish Pen.

Is it a real catch, or should you write it off? Find out next Monday night at 11:00.
