Sitting all day can be hard on your back. So, is there any way to relieve the pain if you are chained to a desk all day?
One possible answer is called the Seat Solution. It is a foam wedge you put on your seat.
The Seat Solution is supposed to relieve backache, fatigue, discomfort, soreness and numbness by restoring the spine's natural “S" shaped curve.
But would the Seat Solution get our "backing" in our As Seen On TV test?
The first thing you'll notice with the Seat Solution Orthopedic Seat is that it has a cut out. That is supposed to be where your tailbone goes.
The theory behind this is that if you are standing, your back will not get sore, but if you are sitting all day, that is when your back gets sore. And that opening basically allows you to sit without any pressure being put on that tailbone.
You will notice the Seat Solution has a handle and one of the things about it is you can take it just about anywhere. You can use it in your car, if you are going to a ballgame and sitting on some hard aluminum or wood bleachers, you could take it with you and it would protect your tailbone from being exposed to those hard materials. It is pretty simple: any chair you want to sit on you just put it down and your tailbone will be off the hard surface you would sit on.
You will also notice the Seat Solution is sort of a wedge, it angles up. And not only are you protecting your tailbone area with that opening, but it is supposed to promote better posture by propping up your back. Now, I really do not have any back issues but, as you know from past As Seen On TV tests, my sister Maureen does. She actually has this little gizmo that she has on her seat that is supposed to promote better back health. I wonder if we swapped that out with the Seat Solution, if it would help her. Let’s find out what she thought.
Maureen said, "I thought it was pretty good. As you know, I've had a couple of back surgeries so sitting has never been real comfortable for me. But this did force me to sit up straighter, so I kind of liked it. Office chairs are not always the most comfortable and I think it worked really well."
I asked Maureen if she would recommend it and she said, “I would.”
So, we heard from somebody who has a history of back problems who said the Seat Solution is a good solution for her sitting at a computer all day long. It is a great tale of helping out the tailbone and gets the thumbs up.
I paid $15 for my Seat Solution at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. You can also buy it online by clicking here.
