If you've priced replacement blades for some of the top-of-the-line shavers, like the Gillette Fusion or Schick Hydro, you know how expensive they can be. And a good electric razor isn't cheap either. So how about an inexpensive solution? In this week’s “As Seen on TV” test Terry tested the Micro Force.
It’s a razor that's smaller and more powerful than larger electrics. It claims to give you a closer shave than a blade and is compact enough to take anywhere. And, it’s only $10. So would this deal of a razor get "nicked" in our "As Seen on TV" test?
Terry tested the Micro Force by using what he called the “credit card test”. He shaved half of his face using the Fusion, and the other half with the Micro Force and then scraped a credit card against each side to see which side produced less sound from remaining hair.
Since the Micro Force claims it can be used anywhere, Terry tried it out in the shower, where it worked just fine despite the water.
When Terry applied the “credit card test” the side on which he used the Micro Force produced more sound. He said he could also feel a noticeable difference between each side of his face. The side shaved with the Fusion was smoother. And, it took him twice as long to shave with the Micro Force which produced a poor result.
While the Micro Force claimed to be convenient, it did not live up to expectations and received a “thumbs down.”
