In today's economy, people are holding on to their cars longer.
One way to keep them looking good longer is to keep them clean and detailed.
Everyone seems so busy these days. It's hard to find the time to clean all those intricate parts of your vehicle.
A product called the Sonic Scrubber Pro Detailer promises to keep those wheels shining without taking you for a detour.
Would the Pro Detailer act like an amateur in our As Seen on TV Test?
The Sonic Scrubber Pro Detailer is a detailing tool that you can use on the inside and the outside of your car, according to the manufacturer. One thing I like about the tiny bristles is that it allows you to get into some tight spaces that you normally can't get with a terry cloth.
You can see inside these gear indicator slots that debris and sand are kind of caught in the crevices. So, you just flip the switch and the rotating head spins; these stiff bristles at 3600 RPM. From what I can see, it got most of the debris out of the gear shift indicator lights.
It looks like my son got a little chocolate stain or something on the seat here. I should be able to scrub this out, hopefully. We'll put a little fabric cleaner on it and we'll let her rip. That brown stain is definitely gone.
Here's another common problem, especially with a lighter car: insect impact marks and they are always tough to get out. So, we'll put a little bug and tar remover on it and as you can see, it cleaned up that area quite nicely.
Some folks still do have whitewall tires on their cars these days and you know tough that can be to keep the white. And I would think the Sonic Scrubber would be a good candidate for getting those white stripes clean. We'll put a little whitewall cleaner on there and, it did a really nice job cleaning the whitewalls when you compare it to the areas that haven't been cleaned.
If you have ornate rims, you know how tough it can be to get into those crevices to get all that grime out. We'll see how the Sonic Scrubber does with that; we'll put a little Fantastic on that and let it soak in. Let's rinse it off and let's see how these rims look, definitely much shinier and cleaner than other parts.
The Sonic Scrubber does just come with this one circular head here. You can order different heads that fit on here: a cone shaped one for those tight spots or one to get around lug nuts. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with the whole set but you can order them.
So, here are my conclusions about the Sonic Scrubber. Whether you're detailing the inside or outside of your car you can, in fact, detail like a pro. I'm very impressed with it. It's a nice tool to have and we're going to give it the thumbs up.
I paid $10 for mine at Walgreen's. They're in a lot of stores and all over the internet. For more information, just click on the Big Red Bar.
