If you're looking to take the family out for dinner tonight or this weekend, look no further then Bulldog Crossing in Elkhart.
A new restaurant has opened up with not only unique items, but also plenty of memories.
If you ask Mike Miles, he'll tell you his new restaurant, Miles Lab, is a family burger bar. But the name has some history to it.
"My family heritage is Miles Laboratory, so we were trying to pay some tribute to the business, the people that work there." Miles explained.
Black and white imagines hang from the walls, a testament to his pharmaceutical family.
This Miles Lab has been open for about 10 months and already has a following. Miles says people from as far away as Indianapolis and Chicago have come to see what the new restaurant is all about.
Even though it's a small restaurant, Miles Lab makes up for its size with big taste.
One of the most popular items on the menu is the Kahuna Burger, a big kobe hamburger wedged between two grilled cheese sandwiches. It raised a few eyebrows at first, but has since become their signature burger.
Seafood lovers can dive into traditional fish and chips or this tuna Caresse sandwich with house-made pesto and a boat load of onion rings.
Miles Lab also has a special sauce that's awesome with their sweet potato fries. It's a mixture of honey, jalapenos, mayonnaise, sour cream, orange zest and orange juice.
Nearly everything here is hand-cut or hand-made,
Numerous flat screen tv's surround the dining room and bar, whether you want to chow down on finger food or just try one of their 18 beers on tap.
A step inside Miles Lab is also a step back in time for so many of the patrons, where a good burger is served with fries but also plenty of memories.
"You hear people who said, 'I worked 25, 30, even 40 plus years there,' and just listen to the stories has been really a neat deal," Miles said of his customers.
