Unique Eats: Desert Moon Fresh Mexican Grille
A taste of Mexico here in Michiana
It's not fast food, it's not casual...it's a Latin mix.

The new Heritage Square Shopping Center in Granger has a new addition...Desert Moon Fresh Mexican Grille. Located at the corner of Gumwood and S.R. 23, it's just over a week old and is ready for its Michiana debut. It's the 21st restaurant of its national chain locations. Some people may call it a fast food Mexican place but that would only be half right.

The menu runs the gamut of Mexican dishes. Most average around $6 or $7. They have a complementary homemade salsa bar, make great smoothies, and even have a beer license. Plus, if you're a vegetarian or even a vegan...you are in luck! Here, if you want, tofu can be king.

Already popular with the lunch crowd, Desert Moon is aware of your busy schedule and accommodates easily to help if you can't sit down for a bite to eat. You can call in your order before lunch so it’s ready in time for you to drop in and pick it up.

My suggestions: Try the Tofu taco salad or the Southwest Chicken club wrap.

Desert Moon Fresh Mexican Grille is a combo of fast food and casual dining…something they call “Fast Casual” with a healthy twist. You won’t find any trash bins around after you’re done because they bus your table for you and deliver the food.
