The American Countryside Farmers Market in Elkhart has a lot to offer in terms of food but now they are teaching you how to cook it! The new Countryside Kitchen is an interactive show that will teach you how to prepare meals for your family.

Charmane Skillen is the kitchen's director and says right after she got married she picked up a bowl and spoon and went to work.

"I just started cooking. I figured that was the best way to learn and it really turned into a passion. I love to cook and love to entertain."

37 audience members each pay $15 for the one hour show; teaching you how to make easy, healthy recopies. Each week has a theme and this week it's thanksgiving sides like cranberry relish, dressing, and homemade parfaits made with honey instead of sugar.

Flat screen TVs hang from the ceiling so viewers can get a bird's eye view of the cooking. Next to the kitchen is an area where cooking supplies and machines are available for purchase and since the cooking is meant to be easy, the whole family can take part...even the kids.

The classes are offered Thursday through Saturday mornings from 10am -11am.
