For the next 24 hours, members of the Notre Dame and Michiana communities will cycle for a cause. The Pink Zone Spin-A-Thon kicked off Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and runs until the same time on Sunday.

The Spin-A-Thon is held to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. The Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Team, Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, and Notre Dame’s College of Science head up the fundraiser.

The goal is to fill 25 spinning bikes for the entire 24 hours at each location and raise a total of $30,000 for the Pink Zone initiative, a global effort by the members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Anyone can stop by and pledge to ride. Riders are encouraged to donate $50 for every hour they ride. Some will only bike for an hour, while others have committed to the full day.

Each hour will also reveal a special theme, like America, in order to keep riders motivated.
