Local bike shop owners and Michiana doctor discuss bicycle safety

Each year there are nearly 600 bicycling fatalities in America, a number that has decreased in recent years as cities and states adopt new safety laws.

High gas prices and nicer weather are just some of the factors that could get more people biking to work or school, and safety is a concern for both them and motorists who share the road.

Joel Schipper was live during 16 Morning News at Spin Zone in Granger with more on bike safety.
