If you're looking to get outdoors in the mild winter weather, Saturday is the day.
This Saturday, February 18, Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle is asking for volunteers to help tap the trees for the upcoming sugaring season.
Volunteers should bring a hammer and a brace with a 5/16 inch bit, if possible. The park will also have extra tools. Volunteers will be meeting at the Sauk Trail shelter at 9:30 a.m.
The main entrance for Bendix Woods County Park is located on Timothy Road in New Carlisle, 8 miles west of the U.S. 31 bypass from the State Road 2 exit.
