A new collaboration in Elkhart County is hoping to better serve those in need.

Eight small food pantries are working with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana to be able to apply for grants and funding jointly. By doing so, they hope to be able to bring in more food for the thousands of Elkhart County residents who rely on the pantries to feed their families.

The unity began back in January and has proven successful thus far.

Food donations will be taken at a drive during Rhapsody in Green the weekend of June 9.
