On May 12, 1999, a South Bend man was found dead on a remote stretch of land and authorities are still searching for his killer.
Lt. Cindy Kilgore joined Tricia Sloma on 16 Morning News in this week's Crime Watch to discuss the crime.
Wesley Poindexter was shot multiple times and found near the South Bend Country Club.
Later in the investigation, a delivery driver had seen a white pick up occupied with three black males shortly before the shooting call came in to police.
"In this case, investigators believe it's likely that two of the three suspects have died themselves," said Lt. Kilgore, "There was a gun taken into evidence in an unrelated case that they received a tip was also used in the case of Wesley Poindexter."
Investigators also determined that a baseball hat was left at the crime of the scene by whoever shot Poindexter.
