Lieutentant Cindy Kilgore of Michiana Crime Stoppers joined Tricia Sloma on 16 Morning News to discuss a 68-year-old woman who was attacked in March.
The attack happened on March 1, 2012 near the intersection of Mason Street and Dragoon Trail outside of Mishawaka.
"She was sitting at the kitchen table when her front door opened, and she thought her daughter had arrived," said Lt. Kilgore.
The suspect grabbed the woman by the hair and began punching her. When she tried to escape to a bedroom, he followed and proceeded to attack her.
Lt. Kilgore says the police are concerned the attacker could be someone who lived close to the woman.
"You don't expect someone at 4:45 in the afternoon to let your dogs out and have to lock your doors," said Lt. Kilgore, "but it's a good idea."
