Crime Watch: Leah Bailey

Twelve years ago, a young woman caught in the crossfire was found dead. Today, police are still looking for who is responsible.

On May 29, 2000, South Bend Police responded to calls of several shots fired and people yelling in the 1100 block of Queen Street.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the body of 24-year-old Leah Bailey in front of a home on Queen Street.

Reports show gunshots were exchanged between people inside and people that arrived at the home.

Bailey reportedly arrived when the gunfire broke out, and was accidentally shot and killed.

Police have interviewed several people, but they are still looking for more information.
