Thursday is National Chili Day, and to honor the food-lovers celebration, a senior living facility will host a community-wide, friendly competition.
Seven area chefs will take on the challenge at Sanctuary at St. Paul's Thursday, as they compete for a year worth of bragging rights.
The event is free, and open to the public, from 11:30-1:30p.m. Attendees will have the chance to sample all 7 chilis, and vote on their favorite. The winner gets the "People's Chili Choice Award." Two other awards will also be handed out, including the "Fire House Award," decided by Fire Chief, Steve Cox, and the "Chef's choice award."
The participants cooking the chili are: Honkers, Texas Roadhouse of South Bend, C J's Pub, Le Peep, Martin's Supermarket and Stevie's Unique Treats.
If you plan on attending, organizers ask you RSVP by calling St. Paul's at (574) 299-2250.
