An Austin, Texas, man says he's offering a billion dollars to anyone who discovers a cure for breast cancer.

Never mind that Mike Dewey has nothing close to that much money. He swears he'll come up with it.

Dewey is motivated by his wife's battle with breast cancer and the knowledge that his daughters are at increased risk for the disease.

So far, he says he's raised about 22 million dollars in pledges and about $90,000 in actual donations through his nonprofit foundation.

Some experts say the plan is naive, but Dewey thinks the money will roll in if there's a breakthrough.
