Sunday was the 21st annual Michiana Cancer Survivors Day at the Cove.
Organizers say it is not a fundraiser, but an event to celebrate survivorship.
“It's a perfect day. We have survivors, their families, and their friends,” said committee chairperson Mary Heck. “It's just a time to have fun and to enjoy the camaraderie of other cancer survivors.”
“For me personally, I've been involved with the event for 14 years, and every year I see it grow, grow, grow. And I see that folks, their spirits are uplifted by this event. So, it's very fulfilling,” explained committee chairperson and cancer survivor Shelby Peck.
The fun-filled day for cancer survivors and their families included music, food, and, of course, the Silver Hawks.
